The canals in Giethoorn are only one metre deep. This makes renting a boat very suitable for families with small children. There is enough space in the boat for a stroller, buggy or Maxi-Cosi, which can be placed safely on the bottom of the boat. For safety, children without a swimming certificate always receive a life jacket.

A full-day sloop rental in Giethoorn starts at €195. This gives you the boat from 10:30 – 17:30. You can also rent a sloop from as little as 2 hours, starting at €70.
A whisper boat is less luxurious than a sloop. A whisper boat is controlled directly via the electric motor, while a sloop has a steering wheel. Renting a whisper boat is also cheaper. A sloop starts from €195 per day, while a whisper boat starts from €75.
No boating licence is required. The boat is very easy to operate. A boating licence is only needed if a boat is longer than 15 metres or faster than 20 km/h. Neither applies to our whisper boats or sloops.
We rent out two types of sloops. One variant fits up to 5 people, and the other fits up to 6 people.
